Adriaen Stalbemt divenne un maestro nella gilda di Anversa di San Luca nel 1609, e sembra probabile che il paesaggio di Rijksmuseum fu eseguito circa 1611 quando il sostegno di quercia dalla zona Baltico /Polish è stato calcolato da Klein come pronto per l'uso.Come per essere il primo lavoro datato di Stalbemt è un paesaggio di 1604.14 Successivamente non ci sono ulteriori opere di Stalbemt firmate e datate fino al 1614,15 ma gli Israeliti che portano offerte per la costruzione del tempio a Pommersfelden, attribuito a Stalbemt da Andrews, che è su un supporto in rame fatto da Pieter Staes, datato 1609.16 Le opere tutte differiscono in stile; infatti il corso artistico di Stalbemt nei suoi primi anni di attività rimane difficile da tracciare. Tuttavia, non c'è motivo di dubitare dell'autenticità di questo lavoro firmato.Il paesaggio di Amsterdam è nella stessa vena del paesaggio di Anton Mirou (1578-1621/27) del 1608 nel museo (SK-A-755). Influenti nella sua concezione possono essere state le prime scene di caccia foresta da o attribuite a Jan Brueghel I (1568-1625) e Pieter Brueghel II (1564-1638).17 Un'altra fonte diretta potrebbe essere stata una scena forestale con uno sparatutto da un albero caduto inciso da Aegidius Sadeler (c. 1570-1629) dopo un disegno di Roelant Savery (1576-1639). 18 Ertz e Nitze-Ertz suggeriscono una data del 1620-30 per il lavoro attuale, che ha concesso l'idioma manierista sembra troppo tardi.Gregory Martin, 2022
