I Five Orchestral Pieces, op. 16 di Arnold Schönberg sono stati eseguiti ad Amsterdam il 12 marzo 1914. In questa occasione il compositore viaggiò in Olanda con i suoi studenti Alban Berg, Erwin Stein e Anton Webern. Alban Berg (non visibile in nessuna delle foto) ha documentato il viaggio e un viaggio a Zandvoort in fotografie e ha fatto un piccolo album per il suo insegnante e se stesso: “Come potete vedere, le immagini sono molto mediocre a causa del maltempo, e alcuni non si sono rivelati affatto. Tuttavia saranno un bel ricordo per me e vi ringrazio molto, caro Herr Schönberg, per avermi permesso di fotografarvi così spesso. Se avete bisogno di più copie, fatemi sapere cosa e quanti volete!” (Alban Berg a Arnold Schönberg, 26 marzo 1914)
