L'inventaire du 24 mai 1593 enregistre parmi les effets dans le magasin du Palazzo Vecchio (Guardaroba Medicea) trois panneaux de cuivre par Alessandro Allori, mesurant chacun 3/4 par 2/3 braccia, représentant le Christ mort assisté de deux anges. Lecchini Giovannoni (1991) a associé cette note à la peinture actuelle et deux autres (non signées) (dans le séminaire Patriarcale, Venise, et vendu Sotheby
