Si tratta di un modello per la famosa statua ‘Eros’ (o Cupido) che sorge nel centro di Piccadilly Circus. La statua è la parte incoronante della fontana commemorativa al grande filantropo vittoriano, Lord Shaftsbury. Lo scultore ha scritto di ‘l’Amore bendato che manda indiscriminatamente, ma con lo scopo, il suo missile di gentilezza, sempre con la rapidità che l’uccello ha dalle sue ali’. Il monumento fu svelato nel 1893 e fu la prima statua londinese ad essere in alluminio.
