Während einer Periode hoher Kindersterblichkeitsraten spielte posthume Portraitur eine zentrale Rolle bei der Erfassung der Ähnlichkeiten von verlorenen Lieben. Andrews malte dieses Gedenkbild der Kinder von Nathan Starr kurz nach dem Tod des jüngsten Sohnes, Edward, der in der Mitte erscheint, die einen Gaming-Stick auf einen Flug von weißen Vögeln in der Ferne. Im Haus der Familie in Middletown, Connecticut, sind die Kinder in einem weichen, himmlischen Licht gebadet, während sie ein Spiel von Shuttlecock spielen, ein Vorläufer zu Badminton.
