Andrea Schiavone (schiavone significa “Slav”, indicando los orígenes del pintor) fue un exponente líder del Mannerismo en Veneto, y esta Adoración de los Magos es un excelente ejemplo de la pintura mannerista, que aparece en la presencia repetida de la figura serpentinata – figuras en una pose espiral. El trabajo data de mediados del siglo XV y es sorprendente por su dinamismo y por el estilo que recuerda el de Parmigianino, de quien Schiavone se inspiró.
