Artist: Anna Kirstine Ancher
Date: 1888
Museum: Anchers Hus (Skagen, Denmark)
Technique: Drawing
Anna Ancher often depicted her local environment, and this is as local as it gets: The pear tree in the small front garden of Anchers Hus. The same pear tree – a Summer Doyenne cultivar – still stands in the front garden of Anchers Hus today more than a hundred years later. The pear tree was a subject Anna Ancher returned to repeatedly.
