What really is curious to note is that a visit to the Cathedral of Brasilia and its series of ten paintings on marble, called “the life of our Lady” in the 60s shows that same use of color and composition of the carnivals. For a practicing Catholic as Bulcão, this may seem unlikely, but just stop on their “Wise Men” (1968), also presented the Godson, to discover that he transposes from one universe to the other. That is the beauty of art experience, where the sacred and the profane approach in the same aesthetic experience. This freedom allows thinking about new spaces and new garments for the liturgical practice, which is not always well understood.
