Nel 1340 un gruppo di scultori specializzati nella produzione di opere in alabastro lavorava a Sant Joan de les Abadesses. Tra la loro produzione nel complesso c'è l'altare della passione, morte, risurrezione e ascensione di Gesù commissionato allo scultore Bernat Saulet nel 1341. E 'stato fatto per la chiesa dedicata ai Santi Martiri Giovanni e Paolo, popolarmente chiamato 'Sant Joanipol
