Die Stucco Frieseze des dänischen Künstlers Thorvaldsen wurde 1812 auf der direkten Kommission von Raffaele Stern ausgeführt. Die Arbeit erfüllte sich mit großem Erfolg, bestimmt nicht nur durch die technische und stilistische Perfektion, die sie zusammenführte, sondern durch den impliziten politischen Inhalt, der Napoleon forderte.
