Pintada entre 1525 y 1527, la obra llama la atención por la inmensa dulzura con la que San José sostiene al niño Jesús, tocado delicadamente con su pie, y por la tierna mirada de María, pasando un fruto a su esposo, como si deseara darle sustento durante el vuelo a Egipto. En la escena vemos al joven san Juan Bautista, identificado por su piel de camello, junto con el arcángel Rafael y Tobias, que es identificado por el pez, del que extrajo la gall para curar a su padre
