King Charles Estoy acompañado por sus comandantes el Príncipe Rupert (sentado) y el Conde de Lindsey, señalando el mapa. Sus hijos, los futuros reyes Carlos II y Santiago II, juegan con un perro. Pre-figurando su derrota final, el Rey ha permitido que su concentración vagase y está mirando a la bella doncella sirviendo un plato de tocino. El hermano menor más famoso de Landseer Edwin originalmente pintó los perros. Estos fueron cortados y vendidos por separado, mientras que la pintura principal fue reparada por un artista desconocido.
