Retrato de Arnoud van Halen (1673-1732). Pintor, grabador, poeta y coleccionista en Amsterdam. Fundador del Batavam Panpoético. A mitad del armario donde guardaba su colección de retratos. En la mano izquierda un retrato ovalado, señalando un dibujo o impresión. Sin autorretrato como se pensaba anteriormente, pero una copia al retrato de Lubienitzki de 1725, ahora en el Museo Pushkin de Moscú. Parte de una colección de retratos de poetas holandeses.
