Ship’s log for the barque the Nueva Borinquen. M. Millet was the captain of the vessel, which sailed the route to Buenos Aires, from Buenos Aires to Montevideo, from Montevideo to Charleston, from Charleston to Buenos Aires, from Buenos Aires to Cuba, from Cienfuegos to Havana, and from Havana back to Spain. The barque Nueva Borinquen was built at Arenys de Mar in 1863 by the ship’s carpenter Salvador Busquets. It continued sailing until 1899, when it was put out of service after arriving at the port of Nassau in a very poor state. It passed through the hands of various owners, and was registered at Aguadilla (Cuba) and at Barcelona. At the time the log was active, the vessel belonged to Jover & Serra and Sons. The voyage detailed in the ship’s log was the last that the vessel would make under this name, as it was later renamed the Consuelo.
