Troost malte verschiedene Szenen aus dem beliebten Spiel „Jan Claasz oder das Supposed Servant Girl“. Das Finale des Spiels ist eine Anhäufung von fernkischen Situationen. Saartje ist am Rande der Heirat der langweiligen Reinier. Niemand weiß, dass sie heimlich in Jan Claasz verliebt ist. Um die Hochzeit zu verhindern, hat das Paar ein Plot geschlüpft: Verkleidet als Dienerin, kriecht Saartjes Liebhaber nachts in ihr Bett. Am Morgen der Hochzeit entdecken die Eltern von Saartje den Betrug und fliegen in eine Wut. Um die Situation zu retten, tut Saatje so, als ob sie schwach ist, woraufhin ihre Eltern einer Ehe zwischen Saartje und Jan Claaz zustimmen. Alles ist gut, dass gut endet.
