David Charles Read (1790-1851) è stato uno degli etchers originali più fluenti al di fuori della Scuola Norwich ad essere attivo in Inghilterra tra gli anni 1820 e 1845. Essenzialmente artista del paesaggio, Read nacque nell'Hampshire e fu apprendista all'eminente incisore John Scott (1774-1828).
