Mercurio y Argus es una pintura al óleo del pintor español Diego Velazquez. Mercurio era un mensajero y un dios del comercio, el hijo de Maia Maiestas y Júpiter en la mitología romana. En la mitología griega, Argus Panoptes o Argos, guardián del heifer-nymph Io e hijo de Arestor, era un gigante primordial cuyo epiteto "Panoptes", "toda vista", llevó a su ser descrito con múltiples, a menudo cien, ojos. Argus, el neatherd, se apaga; Velasquez hace el tema del robo y asesinato en vestido moderno, Fue pintado en 1659. Actualmente ubicado en el Museo del Prado, Madrid.
