Mercurio e Argus è un dipinto ad olio del pittore spagnolo Diego Velazquez. Mercurio era un messaggero e un dio del commercio, il figlio di Maia Maiestas e Giove nella mitologia romana. Nella mitologia greca, Argus Panoptes o Argos, tutore dell'heifer-nymph Io e figlio di Arestor, era un gigante primordiale il cui epiteto "Panoptes", "all-seeing", portò al suo essere descritto con più, spesso cento, occhi. Argus, il neatherd, schizza; Velasquez rende il tema della stealth e dell'omicidio in abito moderno, è stato dipinto nel 1659. Attualmente ospitato nel Museo del Prado, Madrid.
