Diese Blume Stillleben ist anders als alle anderen, weil das Bouquet noch nicht beendet ist. Die Vase ist nur halb voll, und einige der Blumen liegen noch auf dem Tisch. Es ist auch ungewöhnlich, dass alle abgebildeten Blumen aus der gleichen Jahreszeit stammen: Anemonen, Tulpen, Narzisen und Kolumbine alle blühen in der Frühlingszeit. Dirck de Bray kam von einer Familie von Künstlern aus Haarlem. Obwohl er nicht viele Werke malte, zeigt dieses Stillleben, dass er ein sehr erfahrener Maler war.
