The leaves of the Indian almond can be used to feedsilkworms and well as containing tannins that might help treat some cancers andsickle-cell anaemia. Though no relation of the true almond, this tree bearsalmond-like oily fruits. Its timber is also used.A native of the Malay Peninsula frequently grown in gardens in India. Most of the plants of this family possess acrid and poisonous properties and few have any economic uses.
