Vigée Le Brun заметил, что графиня Головина (1766–1821) “ всегда была в поиске литературных новостей из Европы, которые, я полагаю, были известны в ее доме, как только это было в Париже. Стерть скрывается в большом красном воре, словно защищая себя от суровых мер русской зимы. Возможно, самая оригинальная работа художника Русского периода, портрет вспоминает La Frileuse (Winter) Жана Антуана Гудона, бронзовая версия которого воспроизводится здесь.
