Auf einer zweiten Reise in die Schweiz bemalte Vigée Le Brun eine Vogelperspektive einer Bergwiese in der Nähe des Schlosses Unspunnen von Interlaken, wo ein Festival stattfand, um traditionelle Schweizer Spiele und Bräuche zu feiern. Im Vordergrund wandert Madame de Staël mit der Duc de Montmorency. Rechts werden Alpenhorns (in der Regel mehr als zehn Fuß lang) wie Bugles gebrandmarkt, während auf der linken Seite Musiker und Tänzer auftreten. Der Künstler, in rot getrimmt, Skizzen im Vordergrund.
