La contessa (1761–1832), presentata a corte nel 1779, fu presto invitata ad unirsi alla cerchia di amici di Maria Antonietta. Qui, è vestita come vendicatrice, o vendemmia, in sintonia con il gusto della regina per la rusticità nella moda. Gli smalti trasparenti sottili e spazzolati vengono applicati su toni caldi della carne di base. Il supporto in legno del dipinto, intagliato con ocra, contribuisce alla brillantezza della tecnica dell’artista.
