Senza dubbio l'ultimo lavoro di vetro artigianale prodotto dal maestro di Nancy, questa mano dritta e verticale rappresenta il culmine della sua maestria tecnica. A forma di calore, la mano è decorata con applicazioni policromatiche, alcune in alto rilievo. Fu esposta a Nancy nel 1904 in una vetrina intitolata The Deep Sea. Il mondo marino ha fornito a Gallé l'ispirazione per molti dei suoi motivi decorativi che, come i versi di Baudelaire, hanno celebrato il ruolo simbolico del mare.
