Nel 1745 Mademoiselle Duronceray—il cantante, il ballerino e il comico probabilmente ritrassero qui—insignito di Charles Simon Favart, il padre dell'opera comica francese. Tra i suoi ruoli più noti c'era quello dell'eroina in The Loves of Bastien e Bastienne, nel 1753, in cui ha ispirato una rivoluzione in costume teatrale indossando un abito contadino autentico. Il ritratto di Drouais della sua seduta ad un clavicembalo ricorda le rappresentazioni tradizionali di Santa Cecilia, patrona della musica.
