Offensichtlich als Anhänger des Porträts ihres Mannes, Ignacio Garcini y Queralt, ist dies ein radikal anderes, vergleichsweise unzeremonisches Porträt. Doña Garcini's Schwangerschaft kann für ihr loses Kleid und Haar, aber ihre Pose sowie die Palette und Farbe, die alle diese Darstellung mit künstlerischen Präzedenzfällen zu behandeln, die Goya in den spanischen königlichen Sammlungen gewusst hätte: Rubenss robuste, rothaarige Frauen und Rembrandts monumentale Heldinnen, vor allem sein Judith im Banquet von Holofernes von 1634 (Museo del Prado, Madrid).
