Evidentemente concepito come un ciondolo al ritratto del marito, Ignacio Garcini y Queralt, questo è un ritratto radicalmente diverso, comparativamente unceremonious. La gravidanza di Doña Garcini può spiegare il suo vestito sciolto e i suoi capelli, ma la sua posa così come la tavolozza e la vernice che maneggia tutta la cravatta questa raffigurazione ai precedenti artistici che Goya avrebbe conosciuto nelle collezioni reali spagnole: Le donne robuste e dai capelli rossi di Rubens e le eroine monumentali di Rembrandt, in particolare il suo Judith al Banquet di Holofernes del 1634 (Museo del Prado, Madrid).
