Sara Andriesdr ist auf dieser Leinwand dargestellt. (Lit. Tochter von Andries) Hessix, Ehefrau von Michiel Jansz. van Middelhoven, ein Pastor aus der Stadt Voorschoten, bei Leiden, der auch für Frans Hals für ein Gemälde saß, dessen aktuelle Lage unbekannt ist. Beide Arbeiten waren Teil eines Paares und werden gedacht, um den 40. Jahrestag seiner Hochzeit im Jahr 1586 zu feiern. Diese Komposition wurde als Formel für ähnliche später ausgeführte Porträts verwendet, da es der Maler war.
