Friedrich Eibner fue interesado principalmente en rendiciones arquitectónicas. Más allá de su patria bávara, también trabajó a lo largo del Rin, en Francia, y en el norte de Italia. En un viaje a España en el séquito del príncipe ruso Meshchersky, produjo numerosos dibujos y acuarelas, 65 de los cuales el príncipe adquirió y arregló para reproducir como un álbum de facsímil. Más tarde, a partir de 1868, Eibner también comenzó a recibir comisiones del rey bávaro Ludwig II. Aquí Eibner muestra una escena romántica anatmosférica.
