Für die Kapelle des Bischofspalastes von Fontelo, Viseu, ist dieses Gemälde das Abendmahl Christi im Hause Martha und Maria. Christus erscheint in der Mitte des Tisches, flankiert vom Kommissar des Gemäldes, dem Bischof Dom Miguel da Silva (deren Wappen auf den Sockeln der zentralen Säulen vertreten ist), und den Aposteln Petrus und Johannes. Martha, der das aktive Leben symbolisiert, und Maria, die das kontemplative Leben symbolisiert, sind im Vordergrund dargestellt.
