In der Entourage des Fürsten Friedrich Karl von Preußen (1828-1885) nahm der Maler Georg Bleibtreu (1828-1892) an der Entsendung der preußischen Armee teil. Sein Gemälde der entscheidenden Schlacht von Königgrätz zeigt verwundete und gefangene Österreicher im linken Vordergrund, während Preußer Ulans und Hussars ihren Angriff auf einen Hügel von rechts führen. Die monarchische, politische und militärische Führung Preußens hatte sich dort versammelt, personifiziert von König William I, Premierminister Otto von Bismarck, Kriegsminister Albrecht von Roon (1803-1879), und Chef-of-Staff Helmuth Graf von Moltke (1800-1891), um den Kämpfen und dem kriegsdezisiven preußischen Sieg zu folgen.
