Giovanni Badile fu membro di una dinastia di artisti attivi a Verona dalla metà del XIV alla fine del XVI secolo. Il polittico rappresenta la Vergine con un bambino piuttosto affascinante e un piccolo donatore affiancato da, da sinistra a destra, i santi Anthony l'abate, George, James, Peter Martyr, Zeno e Mammas di Cesarea. Il fatto che sia firmato (pannello centrale, basso a destra) rende questo lavoro un importante punto di riferimento nella carriera di Badile. Un contemporaneo di Pisanello, fu uno dei maggiori pittori di Verona all'inizio del XV secolo. L'opera è un tipico esempio di polittico tardo gotico.
