Tiepolo illustrato in due dipinti orizzontali il poema epico rinascimentale di Tasso Gerusalemme Liberata. Gli amanti Rinaldo e Almira si vedono per la prima volta nel ravido giardino palladico di Armida, poi alla riluttante partenza di Rinaldo. Questi dipinti mozartiani sono bozzetti o repliche in piccolo formato delle grandi scene del pittore del 1753 per il Palazzo Episcopale di Würzburg.
