La llegada de Anthony y su entorpecimiento se realiza como una vista ilusionista dentro de un marco arquitectónico fortalecido. Mientras las velas de la flota romana todavía se pueden vislumbrar en el fondo, las figuras magníficamente vestidas se mueven hacia el palacio de Cleopatra en la forma de una procesión triunfal. En primer lugar, Anthony y Cleopatra lideran el camino, ya representados como pareja. Tiepolo juega irónicamente con diferentes niveles de realidad al tener a Anthony apuntando a la entrada del palacio, que es al mismo tiempo la habitación en la que se encuentra el espectador, y a la que los pasos en la imagen también parecen conducir hacia abajo.
