Contro un terreno riflettente a foglia d'oro, Tiepolo raffigura una figura allegorica sconosciuta in una tavolozza monocromatica che imita gesso o pietra. Questo dipinto, sopra, era originariamente parte di un complesso schema decorativo, forse la Sala degli Specchi (Room of Mirrors) nel Palazzo Cornaro, Venezia, e proviene da una serie di quattro opere che rappresentano figure allegoriche femminili, due delle quali sono in The Met e due nel Rijksmuseum di Amsterdam.
