Contra un suelo reflectante de hoja de oro, Tiepolo representa una figura alegoría desconocida en una paleta monocroma que imita el yeso o piedra. Esta pintura, arriba, fue originalmente parte de un complejo esquema decorativo, posiblemente la Sala degli Specchi (Habitación de Espejos) en el Palazzo Cornaro, Venecia, y viene de una serie de cuatro obras que representan figuras alegóricas femeninas, dos de las cuales están en el Met y dos en el Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam.
