Tiepolo zeigt eine unbekannte Allegorie in einer monochromen Palette, die Gips oder Stein imitiert. Dieses Gemälde, oben, war ursprünglich Teil eines komplexen dekorativen Schemas, möglicherweise der Sala degli Specchi (Room of Mirrors) im Palazzo Cornaro, Venedig, und stammt aus einer Reihe von vier Werken, die weibliche allegorische Figuren darstellen, von denen zwei in The Met und zwei im Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam.
