Una ragazza anonima di circa tre anni è in posa accanto a una sedia alta. Lei è splendidamente vestita e indossa una ghirlanda di fiori sulla sua testa, catene d'oro e braccialetti, e un sonaglio d'oro con cristallo di roccia. I genitori di questo bambino erano ovviamente ben fatti. Flinck dipinse con le ampie pennellate libere che aveva imparato dal suo maestro Rembrandt. Ma ha dipinto il volto del bambino in grande dettaglio, con colori sottili e sottili scintilli di luce, in modo che diventi il centro dell'attenzione.
