Museo di Lentos Linz, Sammlung Wolfgang Gurlitt, erworben 1953 Rose von Rosthorn (1864-1919) nacque a Prävali (oggi Prevalje in Slovenia) per una rinomata dinastia industriale austriaca. Nel 1886 sposò l'industriale Ludwig Friedmann. Non solo Rose era una delle prime alpiniste austriache, ma era anche la prima donna a scalare il Watzmann Ostwand e il Thurwieserspitze nella catena montuosa di Ortler. Durante la guerra mondiale Mi offrì come infermiera per invalidi di guerra e soccombì al tifo nel 1919. Alma Mahler per uno ha affermato che Rose era stata romanticamente coinvolta con Klimt.
