Lais of Corinth di Hans Holbein il Giovane ritrae il famoso Lais di Corinto, un cortigiano dell'antica Grecia che caricava un prezzo elevato per i suoi favori. È stato suggerito che Holbein si riferisca anche al Lais che era l'amante di Apelles, il grande pittore dell'antichità (Holbein è stato chiamato "Apelles" nei circoli umanisti). Il modello, lo stesso usato per la Madonna di Darmstadt di Holbein e per la sua Venere e Amor, è stato identificato come Magdalena Offenburg, che potrebbe essere stata l'amante di Holbein.
