Cette miniature, largement attribuée à Holbein, est basée sur un dessin de lui au Louvre, Paris. Il a apparemment été coupé pour s'adapter à un cadre ovale. Wriothesley (1508–1550), lord chancelier et gardien du grand sceau, a agi comme exécuteur et conseiller privé d'Edward VI.
