Un ritratto di Sir John Godsalve (c.1505-56). Un ritratto di mezza lunghezza rivolto a tre quarti a destra. Indossa un collare di pelliccia, un abito nero, maniche blu e tiene una lettera. Iscritto in una mano settecentesca in alto a sinistra e a sinistra dell'orecchio: Sr Iohn Godsalue. S John Godsalue. John Godsalve fu interpretato da Holbein nel 1528 insieme a Sir Thomas Godsalve, suo padre ben collegato (Gemäldegalerie, Dresda). Dall'apparente età del sitter, il ritratto può essere datato ai primi anni dell'artista
