A Masterpiece of Netherlandish Painting

The Last Judgement Triptych is a masterpiece of Netherlandish painting attributed to Flemish artist Hans Memling. Painted between 1467 and 1471, this stunning work of art is now housed in the National Museum in Gdańsk, Poland.

Commissioned by Angelo Tani

The Last Judgement Triptych was commissioned by Florentine banker Angelo Tani, who was an agent of the Medici at Bruges. The triptych is a testament to Memling's skill as a painter and his ability to create stunningly realistic figures and landscapes.

Seized by Paul Beneke

Interestingly, The Last Judgement Triptych was seized at sea by Paul Beneke, a privateer from Danzig. A lengthy lawsuit against the Hanseatic League demanded its return to Italy, but it remained in Gdańsk.

A Must-See for Art Lovers

The Last Judgement Triptych is a must-see for art lovers and anyone interested in Netherlandish painting. The triptych is almost perfectly preserved, making it one of the world's most outstanding examples of this style of painting.
