Während einst gedacht, ein Porträt zu sein, zeigt dieses Fragment eine idealisierte statt spezifische Frau. Ihre hohe Stirn entspricht den Periodennormen der weiblichen Schönheit, und ihr Kostüm stammt aus burgundischen Gericht Stile von etwa 1470, die von der Zeit der Malerei etwas überholt wurden. Wahrscheinlich bildete sie einmal den äußeren linken Flügel eines Triptychons. Als der Triptychon geschlossen wurde, porträtierten die äußeren Flügel eine Allegorie der höflichen Liebe und Tugend.
