Чарльз Спенсер Чаплин был одним из самых известных актеров эпохи безмолвного кино. Родился в Англии, эмигрировал в США в 1914 году и начал работать в Keystone Studios, где он разработал свою персону “Tramp”. Его первым полнометражным фильмом был The Kid (1921), он также снялся в The Gold Rush (1925), City Lights (1931) и Modern Times (1936).
