Helmer Osslund ist berühmt für seine nordschwedischen Herbstlandschaften. 1910 malte er diesen Blick auf den Fluss Ångermanälven von Storberget in Nordingrå. Sie gewann 1915 eine Goldmedaille auf der Weltmesse in San Francisco. Später, Osslund malte die gleiche Ansicht wieder in insgesamt fünf Versionen, mit verschiedenen Ergänzungen und verschiedenen Farben und Features. Nur die erste Version wurde vor Ort lackiert – auf acht Blättern schmierfestes Papier, das er auf die Leinwand übertragen
