Cello que perteneció al cellista portugués Guilhermina Suggia (1885-1950), una de las primeras mujeres en seguir una carrera profesional jugando cello. Suggia heredó este violonchelo de su padre, Augusto Suggia, que era un celista en el Real Teatro de São Carlos y profesor del Conservatorio de Música de Lisboa. En honor de su padre, Suggia dejó este instrumento en legado al Conservatorio Nacional de Lisboa, después de integrar la colección del Museo. The cello was built by one element of the well-known family of English instrument makers, Lockey Hill, most likely Henry Lockey Hill (1774-1835), which is infered from information on its label.
