Ivan Lazarov (1889-1952) est le représentant le plus important du mouvement d'art autochtone dans la sculpture bulgare des années 1920 et 1930. Il consacre son travail créatif à la tradition, au mode de vie et à la culture de la Bulgarie, et défend un art national dans son esprit et sa forme. Il a créé son style individuel, basé sur la poursuite moderne d'un art plastique synthétisé et les caractéristiques distinctives de construction de formes de la sculpture de bois néo bulgare.
