Esta pintura de techo viene de una casa en Leiden (Rapenburg 48) y ha estado colgando aquí desde 1912. Apolo, el dios clásico de las artes, se representa en la pieza central oval. Está rodeado por sus nueve musas, que defienden las diversas disciplinas artísticas. Los cuatro grises alrededor de la pieza central representan la elegía, la comedia, la canción pastoral y los epos. En el siglo XVIII, el artista de Amsterdam Jacob de Wit fue el principal experto en este tipo de tour de fuerza ilusionista.
