Alcuni frutti sono disposti su un piano di marmo. Ci sono prugne, uva e bacche. Il ruolo principale è dato alla pesca, su cui c'è una piccola farfalla bianca. Una formica sta strisciando sopra la pelle morbida del frutto. Questo piccolo dipinto appartiene ad un fiore ancora-vita delle stesse dimensioni. Van Huysum li ha dipinti sia su piastre di rame, che hanno una superficie dura e liscia che è ideale per questo tipo di lavoro piccolo e preciso.
